Environmental awareness is not just a marketing buzzword, it’s an essential philosophy for the future of our planet. Even a little effort from each of us combines to make a huge effort, and we all have our part to play. In recent years, the increase in the number of green cleaning products available has been both phenomenal and encouraging, and Lake of the Ozarks Cleaning Services are committed to playing their part too where we can. This will be a gradual process as new products and methods are developed and our management keep a very close eye on all industry developments.
Many people think that moving towards green cleaning will mean increased costs. In fact, the opposite is true, and over the long term, your average cleaning costs can actually decrease from moving to products with less harmful chemicals in them. A move to green cleaning is also safer for your employees and ours. And of course, it is also better for the environment around us. Another factor that makes sense is that if we are using fewer chemical products, it means we have fewer chemicals to store, and this means costs of complying with regulations are also reduced.
There are various testing programs which certify that a cleaning product is environmentally friendly and safe to use (as well as being an efficient cleaner too!). These programs include Green Seal, the EPA’s ‘Design for the Environment’, and EcoLogo. We will only follow certification from programs such as these as manufacturers’ claims may not always be 100% valid. The way we move forward is first to look at all the products we currently use. Some of our products are already eco-friendly and we use these when clients request that we only use such products. For the others, we look to see if there are green replacements available then obtain them as current stock depletes.
Not Just the Products
Moving towards a 100% cleaning service is not just about the products we use although they play a big part. It is also about the methods, equipment, and processes we use in every aspect of our cleaning services. That can cover everything from obtaining HEPA-rated vacuum cleaners to overuse of chemicals and even water. By constantly auditing and monitoring every part of the work we do, we can identify areas where we can achieve 100% green cleaning status and others where we can look at moving towards that status. Ongoing training of staff in all these factors is also an important part of the process.
Green and Clean
If you would like your cleaning service to be a green one, why not talk to us about what we already do and have in place. In most circumstances, we can customize your cleaning package so that it is green and environmentally friendly. And as we are constantly looking for new products and new methods, our green credentials are constantly improving. Why not call us to find out more?
